Farm and Field
By “Herdsman”
SPEEDING THE PLOUGH BY RADIO
Radio, which is now playing a greater part in the life of man than ever before, is likely to be employed in a very useful capacity on the farm. A radio-controlled tractor has been invented, and has had a successful try-out on Mr Knifton's farm at Potters Bar, Herts. Controlled by a transmitting fan fitted with remote control apparatus, the tractor can plough perfect furrows and execute all kinds of turns. One man can sit inside a cabin, protected from the weather, and guide six of these tractors staggered one behind the other. |
