Local News. ... ROSE GROWING.—At the annual exhibition of the National Rose Society, held at the Crystal Palace, London, on Saturday week, Mr. C. Knifton, of Duffield, was successful in obtaining second prize in the amateurs’ class with six blooms of distinct varieties, and Mr. Boyes, of Milford, also succeeded in obtaining third prize with six triplets, or eighteen blooms of six distinct varieties. |
