An Upland Musicale.
A pleasant musicale took place last evening at the home of Miss Eva Knifton, of Upland. A number of solos were performed on the piano by Professor John P. Dougherty, while members of a quartette, composed of Miss Lizzie Palmer, soprano; Miss Mary Dougherty; alto; Mr. Cavanaugh, tenor; and Professor Dougherty, basso. sang selections from Mozart’s Twelfth Mass, and other composers, besides trios, duets and solos. The singing attracted considerable attention from persons in the neighborhood, and delighted all who were fortunate enough to hear, as each selection was admirably executed. |
