VAN WINKLE—Jennie Van Winkle of 733 Washington died Tuesday, October 17. She was a resident of Eugene for the last three years. She was born in Denver, Col., April 12, 1871 and came to the state of Oregon thirty years ago. She was married to Francis Knifton, May 2, 1890 in Denver, Col. He died in 1909. Survivors are five children, Mrs. Florence Eyer of Fresbo, Calif.; Mrs. Lois Clower of Eugene; Mr. Francis Knifton of Corvallis; Miss Irene Knifton of Eugene; Master Sgt. Thomas O. Knifton with the U.S. Army Air Corps; two half brothers, Bruce Wanless or Portland; James Wanless with the U.S. Army; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was a member of the Episcopal church. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Poole-Larden Funeral Home. |
